Description
Fort Humphreys, Virginia. This is a 68 page paperback. The year 1930 is written in ink on the title page. There is another similar ink entry on the page titled, "Camp A.A. Humphreys of the World War" the words "(By Colonel Richard Park)" is written. It has shelf wear to covers, a tear on the back of the front cover where a small piece the first page stuck to the cover, possibly as the result of glue from a tear repair. There is writing on the front cover at the top in faded ink. The binding is tight and pages are clean and unmarked. In the foreward Edward Schulz, Colonel Corps of Engineers states, "Fort Humphreys was established in its present location in 1917 during the intense days of the World War as a new seat of an old Army institution and as such it inherits and carries forward the traditions and ideals of the Corps of Engineers and of the stations, Willets Point, N.Y. and Washington Barracks, D.C. which had previously been, as Fort Humphreys is today, the home of the Engineer School and the center of Army engineering training and development." He further states, "It is the purpose of this book to give its readers a brief history of Fort Humphreys and of its component units, and at the same time to present a picture of our present activities and future plans of development." The book contains advertisements and at the end, "The Text Interpreted by our Cartoonists." Overall, the book is in good condition.PLEASE NOTE: I do not use stock photos.
