This auction is for an A4 sized presentation on thin white card (shown in the first photograph) upon which is mounted a piece of blue thread which flew on the Gemini IV mission as part of a Colombia Flag carried on the mission by Astronaut Jim Mcdivitt.
The Colombia flag remained in the possession of astronaut Jim Mcdivitt until sold by him through Novaspace - Astronaut Central.  He signed the flag confirming it flew on Gemini IV.  This piece of thread was a loose thread attached to the flag (clearly visible on the photographs) and which was removed from the flag to make this presentation.
This piece of thread was launched into space with Astronauts Jim McDivitt and Ed White on June 3 1965 and spent 4 days in space, completing 66 orbits of the earth before returning to earth on June 7 1965.
